Established in 1914, the Society presents Drama, Comedy, Musicals and Pantomime. The main auditorium seats 401 and the Studio seats 49. The Garrick's season runs from the very end of August to mid (sometimes late !) July.
The Society produces 13 main stage productions per season. Most of these run Monday to Saturday (starting 7.30pm each evening) - often with a 2.30pm matinee on Saturday and Sunday. The sell-out Pantomime runs for 35 or so performances from early December to early January, and the Easter Show typically lasts 2 weeks.
There are normally 5 Studio productions per season, which follow a theme (eg women only, LGBTQ+, Irish, Manchester). These typically run Tuesday to Sunday (starting 7.30pm each evening), often with a 2.30pm matinee on Saturday.
The main stage also offers 40 to 50 one-night shows per season, mainly from professional individuals and production companies. A giant projection screen in the auditorium also features 10 to 20 theatrical screenings spread throughout the season.
