'Rutherford and Son' by Gita Sowerby is a powerful Edwardian Northern classic. The play takes place in an industrial town in the north of England, a few years before the First World War. In the mould of Hindle Wakes, Hobson's Choice and When We Are Married, the play examines themes from the past which are still relevant today.
