heila’s Island is a comedic stage play by Tim Firth, a female-led reimagining of his earlier play Neville's Island. It follows four middle-aged women on a disastrous corporate team-building weekend that leaves them stranded on a remote island in the Lake District. As they try to navigate survival and personal tensions, their differences spark conflict, but also unexpected revelations and moments of growth.

Character Breakdown:
  • Sheila – The earnest but increasingly frazzled team leader. She tries to keep the group together and on task, but her insecurities and need for control slowly unravel as the situation worsens.
  • Fay - A simple soul. A devout Christian and great lover of nature. Has an unsettling calm about her but harbors deep emotional wounds. Loveable but lost-the-plot.
  • Julie - A mousey housewife who thinks her husband is having an affair. She is a planner and highly organised. Her abrasiveness masks vulnerability.
  • Denise - Intelligent and sarcastic with a barbed comment for everyone and doesn't care who she hurts.
