Manchester based, UKMUA Make-Up has a new website. To mark 10 years in business, the make-up internet retail site has been re-branded as UKMUA to reflect their commitment to supplying makeup artists, students and individuals in the UK and abroad. The new website is being expanded daily so please keep checking in.
In short, UKMUA was created by the founders of Wigs Up North.
Back in the annals of time, well, 2004 to be precise, Jackie Sweeney, Liz Armstrong and Vicky Holmes created the brilliant Wigs Up North (WUN). Not ones to rest on their laurels, these enterprising ladies, only one year later, expanded their business to incorporate the sale of professional make-up supplies. When they moved into new premises in Royal Mills, Manchester in 2007, they created an Aladdin’s cave for make-up artists. Over the years, the range of products they stock has grown extensively so much so that our enterprising ladies have created their own range of professional kit products called UKMUA.
Wigs Up North and UKMUA work together to provide a comprehensive service to a wide variety of production companies. The companies can provide teams of Make-Up Artists for live events and outside broadcasts or offer a full design service for theatrical productions including staff, supervision and controlling budgets.
UKMUA stocks goodies from Ben Nye, Kryolan, Fudge and Make-Up International to name but a few. Brushes, special effects, amazing eye make-up, bags and containers are all in glorious abundance in this wonderful Aladdin’s cave. If it’s to do with make-up for theatre, film or television UKMUA has got it taped. Pay them a visit, you will not be disappointed.
You can find UKMUA and Wigs Up North at Unit 8, Royal Mills, 17 Redhill Street, Manchester M4 5BA telephone: 0161 263 5483. Also, keep your eye on Wigs Up North’s website as this is too in for a complete make-over, eta on this one is sometime in March, so watch this space.
