Teenager, Christopher Boone finds his neighbour’s dog Wellington, speared to death by a garden fork. Upset at the loss of a favourite animal, and under suspicion himself of the crime, Christopher decides to find out who killed Wellington. Encouraged by Siobhan, a teacher at his special school, he records his exploits in a book.
Christopher has an extraordinary brain and is exceptional at maths, but he is ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. In the course of the play Christopher's detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that turns his world upside-down.
