Stepping Out is a lovely, award winning comedy by Richard Harris, and it introduces us to the ever patient dance teacher, Mavis and her eclectic bunch of eight pupils made up of seven ladies and one man. Over a period of several months the play follows the group’s progress along with Mavis and the redoubtable Mrs Fraser on the piano in not only the world of tap dancing classes but in the stories that unfold about each of the very different characters.
Notes from the director - Come on all you budding tappers. No tapping experience necessary but a willingness to learn. Tap classes will be compulsory and provided as part of the rehearsal process. Character breakdown is here.
