Fresh Voices 2023

Audition date: Wed 25 January from 7:30pm

Fresh Voices is a celebration of new writing and provides the perfect opportunity for new performers. From 13 to 15 April 2023, we will be premiering four one act plays and two monologues written by members of our own Wordsmiths INK writers’ group. Our new playwrights would love you to add your fresh voices to theirs. Experienced actors - we need you too. Here is a summary of the roles available (more detailed info is given below)

 9 men aged 20 to 80

11 women aged 20 to 80

3 men/women aged 20 to 80

Auditions are 7.30pm Weds 25 January at GBT, with rehearsals starting on 20 February. Each piece will be performed twice over the three days.

Auditions will be very informal. Cast an eye over the roles and synopses below and let us know if you want to be considered for a specific part. Then, working as a group, we will trial various combinations of actors, using extracts from each of the plays – expect laughter and a degree of chaos.

If you are still uncertain about performing in front of an audience, why not come along to our Open Spotlight Night on Friday 13th Jan and stick a toe in the water by reading a poem or two? It would also be a good opportunity to speak to the Fresh Voices writers and directors before the auditions.
