Leonard Vole stands accused of murdering a rich widow. The stakes are high – a shocking witness testimony, impassioned outbursts from the dock and a young man’s fight to escape the hangman’s noose. Vole’s only alibi witness is his wife, the calm and coldly calculating Romaine. Defence barrister Sir Wilfrid Robarts’ task becomes seemingly impossible when Romaine agrees to testify against her husband.
Agatha Christie’s celebrated courtroom drama unfolds in true Christie style with more twists than a pigtail.
