Viktor Mauer is a difficult man. Then again, he has led a difficult life. As old as the century, he reflects in the years before the fall of the Wall, of life in the east - the Siege of Leningrad, the Black Channel, the Nuremberg Law, the Stasi. In parallel, Ursula, young and proud, tells her own story of escaping from across the Death Strip in Berlin.
Two voices, one message, no answer. But lives are, nevertheless, led.
This new play by Macclesfield-based author and director Andrew Wild reflects on the cost of totalitarianism and the very human price paid by many. It was the winner of the Marple Carver Theatre Play-Writing Competition held earlier this year.
The parts of Viktor and Ursula are portrayed by GMDF-nominated actors Matt Rigby and Nathalie Haley.
