Ibsen’s gripping tale of power, politics and principle. A spa town and resort owes its fame and fortune to the health-giving properties of it’s water. So when Dr. Stockmann, the municipal medical officer, proposes shutting it after uncovering bacteria in the water supply he comes up against his brother, the mayor, and eventually almost the entire town population: seeing their livelihoods threatened, to them he has become an enemy of the people.
