The small set-in-its-ways village of Dibley is ready to welcome their new vicar – only to find to their amazement that she isn’t the rather dull chap with holey cardigans, Jesus sandals and bad breath that they had been expecting. Step forth the larger than life Rev. Geraldine Granger who, with the help of her lovely but rather ditzy verger Alice, the pompous David Horton, chairman of the parish council, his much put-upon son Hugo and a host of odd balls that make up the rest of the council – guide us through the trials and tribulations of village life.
