Adapted by Stephen Briggs

Based on the hilarious bestseller by Sir Terry Pratchett. Shakespeare gets the full works in this comic fantasy.
In a small rainy country called Lancre, three witches, the flowery Magrat Garlick, the lively Nanny Ogg and the formidable Granny Weatherwax find themselves dragged into royal politics. The king of Lancre, Verence, has been murdered by Duke Felmet, who has taken over the country, supported by his formidable wife.

There are two big problems. Firstly the Duke hates Lancre and the actual kingdom is pressing the witches to find a king that would take better care of it. Secondly Verence’s baby son has been rescued and fallen into the hands of a troupe of kindly strolling players. Granny doesn’t want to get involved at all but it looks like she and her friends won’t have a choice in the matter. Add to this a ghost, dim-witted guards, pedantic robbers, hysterical actors and a unlikely romance involving a man with bells on, for a lively adventure.
