On the Shore of the Wide World
A Modern Drama by Simon Stephens
18th – 23rd April 2016
Something is about to happen that will change one family forever. Set over the course of nine months, this is an epic play about love, family, Roy Keane and the size of the galaxy. Set in south Manchester, the play focuses on three generations of the Holmes family, examining the persistent dreams and struggles facing each generation. Premièring at the Royal Exchange in 2005 before transferring to the National Theatre, the play won the 2006 Olivier Award for Best Play. Both agonizingly subdued and fiercely angry, the play will stay with you long after the curtain falls.
