The 39 Steps is a parody adapted from the 1915 novel by John Buchan and the 1939 film by Alfred Hitchcock. The plot follows the misadventures of Richard Hannay, an everyman character who is inadvertantly dragged into the machinations. of a Nazi spy ring on a journey that takes him from London to the wilds of Scotland via the Flying Scotsman.
This is a broad physical comedy with lots of silliness, some witty one liners, a lot of Hitchcock references and a core that has a serious message.
