Heart-warming family drama following wartime London evacuee William Beech, from a strict deprived upbringing, and his burgeoning new life in a rural village. Mr. Tom Oakley, his reluctant host, has had his own share of pain but the two of them find a growing and poignant bond together as Tom teaches William to read and encourages his obvious artistic talents.
