A Madcap Screwball Comedy by Ken Ludwig
“George is a walking ham — they should stick cloves in him and serve him with pineapple”
George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950s, are playing Private Lives and Cyrano De Bergerac in repertory in Buffalo, New York. On the brink of a disastrous break-up caused by George’s dalliance with a young ingénue, they receive word that they just might have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town for their matinée, and if he likes what he sees, he may cast them in his upcoming movie. Unfortunately, everything that could go wrong, does go wrong! Brilliant entertainment and farcical moments abound in this chaotic comedy.
