A Black Comedy by Richard Bean
It’s Tuesday at the White Horse. That can only mean one thing. Yesterday was Monday. Welcome to my pub quiz night adventure; an orgy, I wish, of trivia.”
Lee, a soldier returning to Hull’s bleak economy from two tours in Afghanistan, joins a losing pub quiz team, non-ironically named ‘My Dad’s a Drug Addict’. The team is: Lee, specialist subject: “how to kill a man with your bare hands”; Woody, “hallucinogenic drugs”; and Bunny, “the containerisation of Hull docks”. What they need is a bit of class, a bit of history of art, a bit of literature, a bit of posh totty. Can Melissa be a shot of Viagra for this particular East Hull quiz team?
From the author of One Man, Two Guvnors and Great Britain, this is a black comedy with too many questions and all the wrong answers.
