New Writing Theatre Workshop with Ian Townsend

Sat 18th April 2015 11am – 2pm Rochdale Central Library

Ian has, in the past, adjudicated both GMDF’s Full Length and One Act Festivals, (he was the picky one LOL, his words not ours.)
Ian is an award winning playwright (Manchester Theatre Award – All The Bens; Kings Cross New Writing Award – The House in Sofia with a Map of its Surroundings; BBC Alfred Bradley Bursary Special Award – The Lonely Walk Home) and he will be hosting this informative and interactive workshop on writing for the stage.

The workshop will give you plenty of practical advice on getting your plays finished, sent off and read, followed by discussion on how best to get your plays seen. The 3 hour session also includes an element of practical work, where participants get the chance to write on a theme and to a deadline.

Following this, professional actors will work on the short scripts and perform them the following day at The Baum, so writers get to see their work come to life.

This workshop is open to anyone with an interest in creative writing, whether stage, screen, poems or stories, and of any experience
Ages 14+
All details are here, the event is free but you do need to register.
